Grow Together

giving kids the roots to help them sprout

So glad I found this site! Looking forward to making some new MOM friends and getting some advice on my 3 year old! I hear 3 is the new 2! *smile Having some interesting challenges. For example, he is completely potty trained has been for months, however he stood in my bedroom last evening 5 feet from the bathroom and wet his pants (peeing on the rug) right in front of his dad and me!!! When I later sat on his floor with him in his room he told me he did it because he was mad at Daddy!!???!?!?! *ugh* Any thoughts?

My 6 year old was potty trained at three and then started preschool. She regressed (only peeing) and it took well over a year to get her to stop peeing her pants. She just wouldn't bother going to the bathroom. She'd been dry all last year and was even talking about trying to stay dry all night, then this year she started 1st grade and she's started doing it again! She won't want to come home from playing so she just wets herself. I don't have any suggestions, as you can see, but I thought you might feel better to know you are not alone!

Also, a friend of mine had two sons, one quite a bit older. They'd go into the woods and pee, cause, you guys can do that. One day he decided (the younger one) to drop his pants in their front yard and got #2. If that wasn't bad enough, it was right in front of a police officer!

Oh yes! Older brothers can be blamed for many things. That's one trick my son most definitely taught little sis. ;-)

HA HA HA! Pretty funny, I happened to be picking my son up from preschool and we were outside on the playground, where there are lots of wood chips and I was speaking with the Director who mid sentence yells "Hayden, NO!" I turn around and my son had pulled down the front of his pants and thought he would just pee on the wood chips instead of make the trip into the bathroom. I was HORRIFIED! I had never seen him do anything like that. She told me some of the other boys had tried that because they have older brothers that showed them that "trick". *smile (nice!!!)

My own three-year-old daughter suddenly thinks dropping her pants in the backyard and wetting the grass is a perfectly acceptable alternative to actually using indoor facilities.

I think you're right; three IS the new two!
