About Me
I'm a stay-at-home mom of three- two boys, 11 and 8, and a 4 year old daughter. Three years ago we moved out of the city and into a 1820s farmhouse, and it changed my perspective entirely. I am dedicated to encouraging others, particularly parents, to slow down and appreciate simplicity, the wonders of nature, and the miracles of day-to-day life; what Emerson referred to as "wayside sacraments".

I read more books than anyone feels is healthy for me, and I collect children's books ( I am partial to anything Lewis Carroll). I am fascinated by psychology in general and child psychology in particular.

I could use an extra hour or two in the day. Or maybe another day in the week.

Wrestling to free toys from their hard plastic chambers, finding batteries to put inside, instructions to read, always one non-functioning toy to take apart and fix or send back for a replacement. And then, of course, having to listen to the electronic music or voice or sound effects. A… Continue
