I was a little confused here at first too. But, when I actually sat down for five minutes and clicked all the links at the top, and then went and set up my own page, then it all fell in together.
There's still some fancier stuff I'm haven't messed with too much but for the most part, I know my groups, I get emails when something is there, I know my forums and I know where to find the blog posts.
Give it five and it'll seem just like everything else! :-)
