Tidbits about Little Ol'Me

Howdy Y'all!

I'm a proud wife of a farmer from South Texas. We farm primarily sorghum and cotton. I have two beautiful children whom I usually refer to as my Lil'Gal and Farmer, Jr (cuz' he's just like his Daddy). I love the fact that even though my children are growing up and completely aware of technology and the world wide web that connects all of us; they are also privileged to see the agricultural side of things too. The grass roots, if ya' will.

I'm an avid blogger since my Blog Buddy introduced me to it back in December of 2007. It's a wonderful outlet to say what we need to get off our chest. Though, I generally enjoy bringing a little highlight and humor to those who read me.

I use a lot of Southern Slang. Not because I'm under educated. But, because I'm a Southern Gal and it is comfort talk. I love to make up new words to say happy things and the occasional curse word replacement. I'm an optimist! When things start rollin' down hill? I count my blessings starting at the smallest thing like coffee creamer on sale and a great coupon to go with it. And, by the time I get to my beautiful family and wonderful hubby (a/k/a DH) -- I realize I am one lucky Gal.

I'm a Glass Half Full Gal! You can check me out more if ya' want over at: http://glasshalffullgal.blogspot.com. If ya' do pop in over there please comment and introduce yourself. And, let me know you found me by way of Grow Together so I can come over here to get to know a little about you too!

Happy Day!

November, the 1st.

It's November. Already?? I know, already.

Today is absolutely gorgeous here in South Texas. A cool front has made it's way through. The Halloween party we hosted last night was a 'smash' and a wonderfully happy way to end October with great friends, family, and wonderful children.

With the time change, we are all well rested and yet have the entire day ahead of us to do, really, whatever we feel like. Which is, enjoying this glorious day.

November 1st also breaches us into the Holidays. In a… Continue

Blame the Teacher? Your Child? Or Yourself? School is hard!

Our children attend a small school. It is a small private school, though considering the expense of privates schools in the area, the state and the country -- this one is better than reasonable. And, my children have received the one-on-one small classroom education to start them off ahead of the race and give them a well founded base in education.

That being said... I've know the second - third grade teacher for a couple of years now. I've know the children she teaches because I volunteer and… Continue

We Miss You! Let's support each other...

I realize that Grow Together was a sprout off of Root & Sprout E-zine, which was a wonderful resource for all of us to read and share about parenting, as well as a wonderful venue to get paid occasionally for sharing the facts and statistics on things that we found important to make knowledge to other parents.

But, a good value of members of Grow Together never wrote an article. Maybe posted and idea for an article. Probably read some or most of the articles at Root & Sprout...and enjoy… Continue

Where did we all go?

I myself am quite guilty of not visiting here as often as I used to; not always daily, but for sure a couple time a week. Lately, I've found myself missing this place. So, I've been popping back in.

But, I'm wondering where all our funny stories are, our quirky parenting moments, and even our sharing of frustration when we run into a parenting wall.

School is back in session and so am I. Which might be what brought me back here since summer was so full in so many other venues. This past summer… Continue

Thanks so much for your comment on my page ... yes, it is colorful for a reason! You are quick this morning :). I appreciate all of your kind words about 'Color My World.' In fact, I'll fill you in on a secret, I just completed and recorded (yesterday) an audio book for a younger age group with a funky way to learn the ABC's! I can't wait to get you a preview copy of that!!!!!
