Birthdays and bright lights

My daughter Maya, my magical golden girl, turned five today. The past few years haven't always been easy, and a few of them were downright difficult, but the past six months have seen tremendous growth and huge strides forward. I couldn't be more proud of my girl, and am able to be optimistic and excited to see what the future will bring. That light at the end of the tunnel is visible, and growing brighter by the day.

Robin, I remember when you posted about Maya's birthday on your blog. I was so thrilled for you in that you are finally seeing improvement and getting a bit of relief. I can only hope that the light at the end of the tunnel will continue to get brighter as you all travel through life!

How fantastic that you are seeing such progress. I think it's like their physical growth spurts, you don't notice anything for a while and then, all of a sudden, they look taller. It's a wonderful thing!
