Since stepping down from Root & Sprout, I have been in a terrible funk. Even though I've been enjoying my time with my kids before they head back to school in September, and even though I've been making great progress on my second book, I've been thinking really hard about what it is I want or need to do with the rest of my life . . . . and coming up short.

So imagine my surprise when yesterday I received not one, but TWO, messages from people telling me that I have been an inspiration for them to resume writing. One person is going to finally enroll in school to earn her Master's in creative writing, and the other is going to start a book. I'm thankful for those messages coming at a time when I needed them most.

I'm thankful for my family, all the rain we have had this week (it was a dry summer here), and for how things have been working out for us lately!

I am thankful that my cats caught a mouse that got into the house, and that i was able to find some eco-friendly rodent repellent to spray outside. The idea of having to set traps and actually killing the mice freaks me out, Im thankful i can just "repell" them. Hopefully that works!
