giving kids the roots to help them sprout

Occasionally I like to turn the Monday's Musings discussion back to what is happening over at Root & Sprout.

What has been one of your favorite articles recently?

I really appreciate the article "Keeping A Teen Party Safe" because although I've hosted teen parties over the last decade, new tips are so helpful! My three older "children" are all in their 20's and I still have an early teen at home. He is a good kid, and I trust him. That being said, how do I avoid the uninvited from showing up? How do I keep kids from bringing alcohol or going out for some and then returning to the party? Ordner's article covered these questions and more. I now feel competent to host a party AND avoid trouble of all kinds. The article is beautiful and simple - just the way I like it.

I really enjoyed reading "Should You Fire Your Lawn Service." I think I missed this article the first time it ran, and it really reminded me of the dangers of using chemicals on lawns. Using pesticides on lawns is not only dangerous for kids and pets, but also for everyone who lives in or around the treated lawn. I think health is a lot more important than a pretty green lawn, and I hope more people stop using these awful chemicals.
