giving kids the roots to help them sprout

Can you believe I forgot to post a Monday's Musing question last week? But that's okay . . . we've got one now!

What is your favorite type of leftover food to eat? Mine is lasagna. It's even better the second day. Or maybe it's meatloaf. Or pot roast. Hmmm . . .

The first answer that popped into my head is ANY kind of leftover... because that means that I can get a meal on the table for the kids very quickly! But... if I'm thinking about which food is actually the most enjoyable to eat the next day, I'd have to say lasagna, baked ziti, or homemade soup. :)

Crockpot beef stew. The flavors have to sit overnight and mingle, I think. Always better the second time around.

I'm pretty good with any type of leftovers but I think my favorite is some type of grilled meat. It's easy to just cut it up and throw into a stir fry with some fresh veggies.

Chili. I don't even have to think about it. For some reason I have always loved chili more the next day.

I agree with chili and slow cooker stews. They definitely taste just as good if not better as leftovers and the bonus of not having to figure out another meal is priceless!

Homemade Macaroni and Cheese. I pick at it until it's gone. It's worse than potato chips.

Before you even said it I was thinking meatloat. I love having that for lunch the next day.

Not really a fan of leftovers although I eat them. I agree with many of the answers (meatloaf and chili to name a few) but I like cold fried chicken. Yum.

I love leftovers! Lasgna & meatloaf are probably my favorites - but all leftovers are welcome in our house. Mmmm! Chili sounds good today- it is rainy and cool here.

Oooooh, I'm a big time leftover Gal. I will say my biggest left over hit time (not including creating second meals from left over meats, etc.) is carbs for breakfast. I'm always a salad Gal at lunch. But, if there are mashed potatoes or pasta -- or a pasta based casserole, I'm all over it.

I'm also big on black-eyed-peas and leftover butter beans. Yummy!!!

Favorite left over late night snack is veggies! Peas and Carrots, steamed broccoli or other steamed or stir fried veggies....Yum-Yum!!

My favorite left over is any wonderful meal I had the night before when I was out to dinner. Although I like to cook, I don't enjoy my own left-overs as much as if someone else made them.
When it's a meal from a restaurant, say, eggplant parmagiano from a favorite Italian place, it not only tastes great, but the smells remind me of the wonderful time I had the night before. It's like reliving the experince again. MMMMM!

I make a dish in the slow cooker with chicken, potatoes, carrots and sauce (Italian dressing, Italian seasoning and Romano cheese). It's ALWAYS better the second day!!
