giving kids the roots to help them sprout

Once you've voted, come back here and tell us how long you had to wait in line. I will send a Root & Sprout tote bag to the person who had to wait the longest.

Be honest!!

I am not going to win the tote bag! I waited for about 3 minutes. :)

Well, I don't have a shot at this one. I just now got back. And I didn't have to wait at all. Not a single second.

10 minutes - but only because there was a mix-up at the sign-in table!

Oh, how I love living in a small town!

I've been waiting 4 years for this...

But I don't suppose that's the number you're looking for. :)

My answer is the same as Lauren's, but about 1 minute longer since I was behind her.

But I bet you I got OUT of the polling place faster than ANY of you -- that's because I was running out of there after Owen yelled out to everyone, "We just voted for _______!!!" Yikes. :)

I waited for about 45-50 minutes. Our polls opened at 7am and I was voter 205 in my precinct around 9am. My hubby got there probably 15 minutes before me and he was quite a bit ahead of me in line. And the line was just as long when I left as well. Then again - I hear we have 98 (or so) percent of adults who are registered to vote in Michigan this year, so I'm sure it'll be a record turnout today!

I didn't wait at all to vote, just for my husband who was writing in candidates for soil and water conservation positions.

Well, shucks! You know I love those tote bags!

I didn't wait....at all!!!

I walked into our HS gym, there were two people voting...one in each of the two booths...and one lady signing in ahead of me.

I signed in, the two in the booths were done so she and I each walked into a booth. Clicked. Pushed VOTE and done!

I took my 10 and 11 year olds and they were bummed that it wasn't anymore exciting than that! They even got to come behind the curtain with me.

So, I told them it was exciting - b/c when THEIR children bring home textbooks that replay the vote that either put a the first black man or the first woman VP in the white house they can say they were IN THE BOOTH for that election!

(although I choked out the words..."when Grandma voted" referring to myself as their unborn children's g-g-g-g-grandma! LOL!)

2 minutes. The booths were all filled when I got to the polling place in our local Library, so it was just a matter of waiting for one person to finish. There were so many cars in the parking lot, it looked like it would be a long wait.

i only waited for about 6 minutes. and that was because my grandma was ahead of me and couldn't figure out the electronic voting "gizmo".

23 minutes!!! And they were serving Caribou Coffee! I'd say it was a pretty great morning!

Three minutes top. Short line, well staffed, lots of voting booths. No check of ID's -- that always surprises me. They just take my word that I am who I say I am and I sign under my name.

My husband didn't have to show his ID, but I did (as well as the people in line in front of me). I think it's strange they don't always check ID, too. It's so easy to forge a signature, even if they have it on file.
